Stone-like yet ductile materials
GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete, also known as GFRC) and UHPC (Ultra High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete) are fibre-reinforced concretes. The fibres provide ductility and eliminate the brittleness of conventional concrete. Thanks to their high strength, they enable the manufacture of large-scale pieces with thicknesses of little more than one centimetre. Because much less thickness is required, weight is reduced to less than half that of standard concrete — strictly through reduced thickness, not lower material density. Their ease of moulding also offers virtually unlimited freedom of form.

Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete. A composite of cement and alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibres. The 30 Cannon Street building in London (1976), with its GRC Sprayed panels, marked the start of a façade-architecture revolution that has now spanned over half a century.

UHPC / UHPFRC
Ultra High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete. The most advanced evolution: compressive strengths of 100–200 MPa, ductility, extreme compactness and impermeability. It enables ultra-thin structural sections such as the cladding of a building at Port Vell in Barcelona.
